A soln of the mixt. is treated with a basic resin. In an example, a soln. of 1.9 g mixt. of secretin (I) and cholecystoquinine (II) in 50 ml. H2O was adjusted to pH 9.5 with NH4OH, passed through a column of 80 g QAE Sephadex A-25 (buffered with 0.01M ammonium formate), and the column eluted with ammonium formate soln. to give 90.1 mg. I and 67.5 mg. II.
