Keratinous fibres, e.g. wool, are rendered shrink-resistant by applying thereto 0.5-10 wt. % of (A) an organopolysiloxane having the repeating unit RnSiO4-n/2 (where n has an av, value of 1.9-2.1 and R is an org. gp. bonded to Si 0.25-50% of which are univalent gps. of 30 C contg. is not 1 imino gp. is not 3 C away from the Si atom and is not 1 primary/secondary amino gp. of formula -NX2 (X being H, alkyl or aryl), is not 50% of R being CH3) and 0.05-7.5 wt. % (based on (A)) of (B) an org. peroxy cross-linking agent for (A) and heating the thus-treated fibres at a temp. sufficient to effect cross-linking of (A).
