There is provided a crystallization-resistant disproportionated rosin prepared by heating a rosin material at temperatures between 250 DEG C. and 275 DEG C. in the presence of from 0.3 percent to 1 percent of specific phenol sulfides, hereinafter defined, for a time sufficient to increase the 9,10-secode-hydroabietic acid content to at least about 5 percent.
