Variable ratio current transformer having divided primary winding - has linking terminals each with two connecting points

The application is to variable ratio current transformers with primary windings which are split into two more sections to give series, series-parallel, or parallel connections, in order to alter the voltage output from the secondary windings. Better utilisation of the available space is achieved if the primary windings have their ends brought to terminal straps whose ends are fastened onto terminal posts located in opposite enclosing walls of the transformer. The connections are then made by links outside the housing and are shielded by a cover plate. Thus only the line connections need be dimensioned for the maximum current.
