Cradle/launcher for rescue float - with extending ramp launch float well clear of ship

The folded float is secured in a cradle formed by half cylindrical arms and held by a spring loaded release line. A hinged ramp is fitted to the outboard side of the system and when released, extends the ramp under its own weight, to reach well clear of the side of the ship. The folded float then rolls down the ramp for self erection away from the ship so that it is not affected by the suction when the ship sinks, neither is it damaged if the ship is on fire.
