Adjustable artificial leg has a basket to receive the amputation stump and connected to a universally-jointed pipe system to which is jointed a foot part. The jointing between the basket and pipe system, and between this and foot part, is formed by 2 discs held spaced apart by a central ball bearing and fixable by screws. The discs have a 2- or multi-part housing engaging around them, and their position can be fixed relative to each other by press. screws passing through the housing and acting on one of the screws, such that after an adjustment has been made, the housing can have a casting resin cast around it and is releasable after setting of the resin. The prosthesis can serve both as an interim and as the final prosthesis, so that no model is required.
