High fidelity quadrophony is achieved with this system if recorded with the microphones placed in the upper four corners of the recording area which is usually large and different time delays are applied to the tracks while recording for reproducing. The fidelity is not influenced by the size of the listening room. The loudspeakers are placed in the four upper corners of the listening room and are fed by four separate amplifiers. Recordings may be made on four track tape or on four track discs.
