One main support cable fits between the two main suspension masts. At least one directional cable holds the aerial contact wire for the electric locomotive. This directional cable has at least one section which is built as a rigid beam supported at either end by subordinate masts which are mounted on the ground between the railway tracks. The rigid sections of the horizontal directional cable are made from strip material or can have box construction.
