Cement having a high sulphate-stability and low heat of hydration, for mfr. of concrete pts. resistant to sea-water, thawing salts, acid soils and aggressive chemicals, consists of a mixt. of Portland cement (A) and a cement (B) contg. mainly dicalcium silicate and a vitreous phase of alkali, CaO, Al2O3 and Fe2O3. (B) is pref. prepd. from lime-deficient marl, e.g. Beckum marl, contg. 45-60% CaCO3, bal. alkali and sesquioxides (Al2O3, Fe2O3, SiO2) by calcining and quick cooling (sintering) on a sintering machine.
