Improved packing capability of tobacco - by controlled pressure reduction treatment of moist tobacco

Improved packing capability of tobacco is achieved by subjecting the moist tobacco to a pressure reduction at a specific rate of pressure change, such that there is no explosive liberation of water vapour by boiling, and subsequently is fixed if need by drying, is further improved if the moisture content is =15%, the pressure reduction =10% of the initial pressure and the rate of pressure change =0.4%/sec of the relevant pressure.
