A safety container for medicines, consisting of a tubular receiver associated with a rotatable lid, provided in known manner in the connecting zone between this and the receiver with a series of annular grooves with mutually off-set, axially parallel, interconnecting passages and one or more cams or lugs on the lid which can pass through the passages at specific positions of the lid and receiver, is improved when the part of the lid covering the annular grooves is made of elastic material and provided with at least one cam or lug, while the bottom of each passage is radially higher than that of the annular groove.
