The continuous control of the effective current value between zero and nominal value is achieved through a triac fired by a diac connected to a potential divider. The suppressor combination consists of an inductance and a capacitor. In parallel to the capacitor is an RC component. The potential divider has a capacitor and an adjustable resistor. The inductance has a ferrite rod core with the winding limited by pushed-on flanges of insulating material with electrical disc connectors. A radial air gap of 1 to 2 mm is incorporated in the connector.
