Sealing light aggregates e.g. expanded clay - pref. with stucco gypsum to reduce water absorption before mixing with plaster

Water-absorbing light aggregate, expanded clay and/or expanded slate is provided with a quantitatively adjustable surface-seal coating, pref. of stucco gypsum, and then transferred to a mould, separately or in combination with a liq. gypsum mixt. Used in gypsum/light aggregate building units e.g. partition wall panels and cross-pieces. Water-absorption of aggregates is reduced, allowing use of large aggregate quantity; visible surfaces remain smooth, free from craters, or protruding grains; highly polished chromed surfaces are not damages.
