Ventilation system for refuse plants - has one way valve in refuse shaft opening to ventilation shaft when partial vacuum formed

Ventilation system for refuse plants prevents the formation of a partial vacuum when refuse is thrown in against the air column beneath it. At the upper end is a sealed refuse shaft and a ventilation shaft connected to the atmosphere. A one-way valve on the refuse shaft is located between this shaft and the ventilation shaft and the opening differential pressure is fixed so that the valve opens when a partial vacuum is produced. The refuse shaft is of circular sheet metal construction.
