Support and press for transformer cores and coils - uses steel plates to apply pressure on core via tension strips round core yoke

The support and pressure device is intended for cores and coils of large transformer or choke coils. The plates coupling strips are held by tie rods on both sides of the yoke, and also joined together by pull-rods running along the core limbs. Laminated plastics bars are provided on the steel plates in order to hold together the core yokes and the coil windings. These bars rest under pressure partly on the steel plates, and partly directly on the outer core laminations, providing electric and magnetic insulation. The bars may be provided with lateral coil compression elements.
