The equipment is suitable for hoisting, laying and transporting heavy slabs, and is especially applicable to concrete paving stone laying on balconies, terraces, paths and elsewhere where cranes and other massive equipment cannot be brought into operation, and where heavy manual work would otherwise be involved. It can be easily carried in a lorry, or by one man on the site. Levers and gripping wedges may be formed so as to be interchangeable as well as adjustable. Grips may be narrow enough to facilitate laying and transport and replacement of existing slabs in a confined space. Components may be of stainless steel, plastics, wood or other materials.
