The valve body defines, together with the casing, a space which, in the closed position, is connected with the port (slot) of the valve body. This space is filled with a sealing cpd. which seals the port of the valve body in the closed position. Prevents heat-setting casting resign from reaching the hollow space of the valve and thereby impairing the functioning of the valve. The sealing cpd. may be an elastified epoxy resin. The space is provided with apertures for the passage of the originally liquid, but solidifiable, sealing cpd. which may have rubber-elastic, damping, characteristics.
