Induction coil for magneto ignition systems - comprising separately manufactured primary and secondary coils assembled coaxially on core

Induction coils of this type form part of a magneto ignition system for combustion engines. Manufacture is simplified by forming a spool on the iron core and machine winding this with the primary coil. The secondary winding is separately machine wound on a bobbin, impregnated, and threaded over the primary, and located by the end flanges of the primary spool. The whole can be encapsulated. One end of the primary can be welded to the core, and the other end taken through a slot in one end flange to join with the secondary and the supply cable.
