Switch for telephone circuit with mechanical timing devices - has actuating leaf spring at end of lever linking with coil spring of linear characteristics

The switch has two contacts with an actuating lever having a buckling leaf spring connected to one end. The lever forms part of a link mechanism interacting with a coil spring whose characteristics are near enough linear. An inertia disc is rotated through a given angle to operate the contacts. The point at which the coil spring is joined to the inertia disc is off centre. The contacts can be inserted in series with a permanent magnet circuit with the control elements coupled to adjustable bushes. In one extreme position they will produce a magnetic short circuit of the contacts concerned and in the other a concentration of the flux in the airgap.
