The feature if this design of clamp is that its fastening zone is divided into two areas. The active or rigid one is in contact with the fixture, and the passive or deformable zone is in contact with the surface to which it is fastened by nail, screw or bolt. The two zones are distinctly separate and in case of a clamp made of sheet metal, a semicircular slot would form the boundary. The active part of the clamp is more rigid and stronger than the passive part of the 2 zones is at different levels. The clamp can be peardrop shaped. The fixing hole in the centre is surrounded by the boundary slot.
