The clock has hour minute and pref. second hands and has variable display elements and/or housing for receiving the display elements positioned around the clock face adjacent the clock numerals, or replacing them, so that a required display may be positioned to correspond with a specific time. Pref. the housings are square shaped and a display element can be secured in any housing e.g. as a push-fit, in one of several positions, to provide a child with additional information to aid him to tell the time.
