Refuse compactor with retractable refuse container - has ram plate with raised edge for preventing catching of large tins

The ram plate has an upwards turned rear wall in order to ensure that tins are not trapped on the edge of the ram plate. If trapped the tins are lifted up together with the ram and the refuse container collides with the lifted tin so that it cannot be pulled out from the refuse compactor. The turned over edge is at least one fifth of the height of the refuse collection chamber and the side walls of the ram plate are also turned upwards. The compacting press has a retractable refuse container and the compacting ram has a compacting ram plate which comes into contact with the refuse to be compacted. This arrangement ensures that the compacted refuse remains in the refuse container when the ram plate is retracted from the refuse container.
