Iron protected against atmospheric corrosion - with nitroso cpd. or oxime corrosion inhibitors pref mixed with water displacers

Fe metals and their alloys are protected against atmos. corrosion by using corrosion inhibitors, (I), consisting of following nitroso cpds. or oximes: alpha-nitroso- beta-naphthol, b-nitroso-alpha-naphthol, o- or p-nitrosophenol, nitroso-phenyl- or -naphthyl hydroxylamine, benzoin oxime, dimethyl glyoxime or benzil dioxime. The iron contg. prods are eg. dynamo sheet iron and magnet cores. (I) form stable bonds with atoms at metal surface and have excellent adhesion under mechanical stress as well as under dew point corrosion conditions. Protective activity is 100% with nitrosonaphthol and benzoin oxime.
