Plum stone remover has an electric motor to drive the crank, acted on by an emergency safety unit in the path swept by the floor or chute when pivoting against the cup, as a control element which responds on meeting an obstacle. Preferably the drive is taken by belt from the electric motor. The crank pulley is a belt type pulley. A collar is associated with the floor or chute and projects on one side of the cup, and is displaceable w.r.t. the floor toward the other side. A contactor for the drive motor's circuit is between the floor and collar and responds to their relative motion. Operation is facilitated and productivity is increased.
