Appts. for heat treating textile materials, esp. a tenter for heat treating a band of circulating material, has a nozzle bank situated on =1 side of the band of material and extending the working width of the tenter, the nozzle bank being fed frontally and having the nozzle orifices directed towards the band of material, and has a fan disposed on the feed side of the nozzle bank, the appts. being characterised by the fact that the fan is radial, has its axis of perpendicular to the plane of band material and is disposed on the longitudinal side of the appts. The arrangement, which can be used for drying the material, ensures that the material is not displaced laterally under the action of air currents.
