New triaryl sulphenamides have general formula N(Sar)3 (I)(where Ar are opt. same and denote mono- or polycyclic, carbocyclic or heterocyclic aryl gps.). Pref. Ar are Ph, alpha- and beta-naphthyl, diphenyl, pyridyl, quinolyl, thienyl or furyl, or 2 Ar denote an o-phenylene gp., and are opt. substd. by nitro, alkoxy, alkyl, -CN or halogen. (I) are used in reactions with nucleophilic cpds. to form products some of which have biocidal activity.
