Tubular cell air sound damper prevents propagation of sound in air channels and can be assembled to a required size from individual tubular cells, which are manufactured from identical serial parts, with standard values for the free cross section and sound damping. Preferably the cells can be made from four parts with standardised characteristics, on a production line. Higher damping is obtained by arranging two or more units in seires. More partic. the four parts are an air-conducting pipe, of perforated metal sheet; damping discs, of mineral wool mat; intermediate sheet metal discs; and end pieces, of funnel-shaped pressed sheet metal.
