False ceiling with open U-section elements cladding - has clamping edge battens bent to press resiliently against holder assembly

The visible cladding of the false room ceiling, which may also accommodate sound-absorbent material and conceal heating pipes for surface heating, comprises elements of upwards open U-spahed cross section, bent over on two opposite, parallel sides to holding edge battens. These point outwards, and are bent from their outside edges into strips which face inwards and have a vertical springing effect, for pressing against the holder device which carries the cladding elements. The edges may also be bent upwards over the battens, with an upwards springing effect, or downwards below them with a downwards springing effect. This is esp. secure in sports halls, or similar constructions, where a ball or other object may be knocked against the ceiling cladding.
