Aluminium or alloy cooking or baking utensil has a low-porosity coating on the inside, applied by an electric arc plasma burner. Pref. the coating material is Al oxide, TiO2, ZrO2 or mixtures of these, and is applied so that a small cup-shaped recesses are formed in the surface, for fat to collect. A powder plastics may be mixed with the coating material, preventing the formation of pores and giving an antiadhesive property. The plastics may be PTFE, fluorocarbon, silicone resin or polyimide. The coating is then sealed with an antiadhesive plastics, by applying an additional plastics layer with a plasma gun. Little fat is needed for satisfactory cooking when using this utensil.
