The heavy current line protective circuit breaker of single-pole type is formed by a parallel connection of the switching poles of a two-pole circuit breaker, or by parallel connection of two single-pole protective circuit breakers. The current path of the used circuit breaker(s) is formed by a series connection of a bimetal trip, a magnetic tripping coil and interruption contacts between the connecting terminals. In order to stabilise the current distribution in the bimetal trips, a connecting bridge of sufficient cross section is mounted between the parallel paths, coupled between each bimetal trip and the tripping coil. Preferably the input and output terminals of the individual poles are connected to the terminals of the cross section, desired for higher rated currents.
