On heavy duty vehicles with tandem axles which mostly operate on uneven surfaces the advantage of providing spring suspension is often omitted. Such vehicles however are limited in their maximum speed by stipulations of the law. On the other hand spring suspensions of any kind, but leaf spring suspensions in particular, present possible failure risks due to spring fatigue or breakage. The present arrangement overcomes this by seating the balancing arm in such a way and the other part of the suspension axle in the balancing arm and the other part seated in the suspension body have a relative eccentricity, so that in case of the swinging motion of the arm the axle performs a rolling motion which demonstrates itself as a simulated springing action.
