The copying arrangement for a tailor's manually operated cutting tool has a shaft with a hand grip whose free end carries two axis-parallel serrated rotary wheels whose spacing is adjustable, preferable in an infinitely variable manner. One or both wheels may be arrange movably on a transverse element secured tot he shaft and provided with marking giving appropriate dimensions. Preferably the component carrying each wheel may bemounted on the transverse element by a sleeve with a latching screw, the transverse element and the sleeve bore having identical, polygonal cross sections. The displacement of the wheels may be carried out by a threaded spindle.
