Thyristor with partial cathodes coupled via inductances - uses differential transformer to connect two partial cathodes

The thyristor with a divided cathode has inductances incorporated in the feed(s) to a partial cathode or several such cathodes. If two partial cathodes are used the inductance is in the form of a differential transformer. In such instance preferably an igniting transformer is incorporated in one cathode feed, whose polarity provides a negative characteristic for the partial cathode with a salient igniting pulse. One cathode feed may contain a choke and the other one the igniting transformer of such polarity as to provide positive characteristic for the respective partial cathode with a salient igniting pulse. Preferably no gate strips are available between the partial cathodes.
