The working platform and its actuating system form a unit together with the drive system. These platforms can be used for inspection and working on the outside of the parked aircraft. The telescopically supported working platform is used for lifting through great heights. The working platform is subject only to negligible swaying and its movements are controlled uniformly. connecting ropes can be coupled to the pulleys fitted at the top and bottom end of a tubular telescopic section and to the enclosing tube wall. The ropes can also be arranged at the opposite sides of the tubular components. The telescopic mast is extended by its own weight and the drive unit also travels along with the extended system. The guide elements are hence constrained by a simple mechanical method and they ensure shock free travel.
