Gas or oil-fired boiler heat-storage elements - heat-resistant and embracing tube array permit flame penetration

The heat storage elements are of heat-resistant material impervious to the burner flame, with a tube system passing through them allowing max. unchecked penetration of part of the flame and its surrounding heat, and permitting simultaneous heating of themselves and of the boiler. After extraction of the flame, with no additional fuel consumption, the stored heat is slowly transmitted to the boiler, making it possible to keep the burner out of action for a longer period. The elements are pref. of sheet steel, with sides firmly welded together and with removable covers, filled with sand or other heat-storing material and fitted with tubes in various directions, and of a suitable size for installation in normal trade boilers.
