Storage-stable, readily soluble detergent additives in particle form contain, embedded in a coating material, in agent which augments washing bleaching or biocidal activity. The coating material consists of (A) 20-70% of at least on fatty acid or fatty alcohol of m. pt. 30 degrees C, (B) 10-50% of at least one water-soluble polyglycol or nonionic or anionic detergent, and (C) 1-20% of water-swellable colloidal silicic acid or hydrated aluminium silicate, the proportion of A to B being 5:1 to 1:2 (pref. 3:1 to 1:1) w/w. The coating materials protect the active ingredients against decompsn. even under unfavourable conditions, yet readily release the active ingredients into aq. soln. at low temp.
