A synthetic surfacing material for sports grounds, tennis courts, etc., comprises a securely needled synthetic web of fibres such as polyesters, on one surface of which, a synthetic layer impermeable to water is applied in the form of an aq. dispersion of a polymerised material based on polyacrylates, polyvinylacetate, vinylacetate-ethylene or neoprene-latex, and bonded to it. Depending upon the intended use, the synthetic top coat is structured possibly by spraying with a dispersion of resilient granules. Material is waterproof, delivered ready-made in lengths, and easily installed and glued in position on a level surface.
