Safety device for a grab which can move vertically under a truck which moves on a fixed bridge and deposits objects such as synthetic stone, from one transport device onto another. A universally deflectable safety basket which encases the grab is supported via a support ring on a support which has adjustable damping components. This support slides on a guide tube and is connected by a lifting cable with an electrically driven, controllable cable winch supported on the truck. The support extends with its bottom edge below the bottom edge of the grab. One or more support faces which are in the form of signal generators, are arranged between the support ring and the support.
