The telecommunications appts. has a number of stacked circuit groups, and is provided with an air intake having a sheet metal deflector plate to direct the air over the circuit groups, with the air leaving the appts. at the top, after passing over each stage. The bottom surface of the deflector plate serves to deflect warm air rising from a lower stage through a side outlet. Pref. the air intake has a number of vanes which can be adjusted to control the intake flow, and this air may pass through one or more filters, before passing over the circuit groups.
