Bunker for mine shafts subjected to distortion due to pressure of surrounding strata consists of a flexible material made up from layers of plastic or rubber. The layers are reinforced by plies from woven fabric and the buner is of sufficient strength to deform with the shaft without being damaged and without breaking the seal with the shaft end. Considerably deformation can take place causing quite severe shape distortion which nevertheless still permits a return to the original shape.
