Gear drive to double worm press - has three pairs of helical gears to balance axial thrust

The drive has an input shaft and two parallel and close together output shafts which drive each worm of a double worm press. The input shaft has three rigidly mounted helical spur gears which mate with three gears, which are free to move axially. Two of these gears have the same helix angle, and the axial thrust for both gears, due to the helix angle, is in the opposite direction. The helix angle of the remaining pair is so chosen that the axial thrust is equal to the combined thrust but opposite in direction of adjacent gear pairs.
