The meter has an inlet, an outlet and two of the three chambers are measuring chambers divided by a movable partition, while the other chambers contains a flat side which moves over a control block to connect the measuring chambers alternately to the inlet and the outlet. The outlet communicates with the chamber containing the slide. In addition to its control movement, the slide is also capable of movement away from the block. A spring holds the slide on the block with a force which is higher by a safety margin than the pressure to which the slide is exposed by the normal pressure drop in the meter.
