The switch box contains fixed manually operated switches for adjusting the speed of revolution of a starter-motor as well as fixed leg-operated switches for starting and stopping the starter-motor. The switch box is provided with connecting cables leading to additional mobile switches controlling the speed of revolution as well as to starter and cut-out switches. As a result, the operative is not restricted to a small confined space and can adjust the speed of revolution of the starter-motor as well as its running and arrest in an easy manner, irrespective of his distance from the switchgear.
