Rear-ventilated double-skinned wall insulating layer - as solid insulating panel with spaced covering panel adjoining outer skin

The insulating layer is for incorporation in a double-skinned structural wall, which is vertically rear ventilated and which has an outer skin if not both skins, of stone masonry construction. The insulation is in the form of a flat insulating panel of solid material, with a covering panel on the side facing the outer skin, and held at an interval from it, pref. by means of spacer elements at set horizontal distances apart. The outer skin immediately adjoins the covering panel. The spacer elements may be vertical continuous battens, pref. formed by a suitable profiling of the covering panel, which may be made of asbestos cement or hard plastic foil, and impervious to moisture. Free air circulation is not impeded.
