Effluent treatment plant - for use in fat processing with recovery of fat and clarified effluent for re-use as process water

In the purificn. of effluent, partic. that from the fat industry by the removal of undissolved suspended materials in a flotation plant after a physical and/or chemical pretreatment, a double treatment is provided in which the effluent is supplied to a cooling circuit after passage through a fat separator a phase seperating station and the flotation plant, while condensate water is passed to a cooling circuit via a further flotation plant and the sludge-contg. water is passed to a sedimentation plant or returned for re-use. Recovered fat is recycled. Method not only enables the effluent to be treated and largely re-used but also permits recovery and re-use of fat and of the chemicals added to the flotation plant.
