A racquet or bat for ball games similar to tennis or table tennis etc. which are to be played in very restricted spaces, is designed to impart a low velocity to the game ball by means of a fairly inelastic striking area. The striking area is made from lightly woven textile material, artificial webbing or a narrow network of lightly tensioned fine filaments. The central striking area is attached to the short handled egg shaped framework by a single looped thin cord.
