Body-supporting column-mounted occupational chair - fully relaxes and supports spine in any position through areas of different padding

The seat which is mounted on a central column is provided with a back rest which has a circular support element with arms which, seen in cross-section, are inclined towards each other and are provided with different types of padding. The seat surface itself is circular and is supported in the middle by the column whilst the lower arm of the back rest is aligned practically at right angles to the seat and is set at a distance therefrom so that the sacrum and lowermost lumbar vertebra of the seated person can be supported. The inclination of the arms is preferably between 12 and 15 deg. whilst the lowe arm of the support element is provided with a harder padding than that of the upper arm. In this way only those parts of the body requiring support are in fact supported so that there is no danger of cramp occurring.
