Cantilevered natural stone staircase concrete-supported steps - with stone screen round concrete seating under tread slabs

The cantilevered staircase, esp. of natural stone, incorporates tread slabs made of stone, on a seating of reinforced concrete set in a carrying wall. Under the tread slabs there is in each case a screen, esp. again of natural stone, which runs along at least three sides of the tread support seating; this is pref. composed of riser stone slab sections, vertically mounted, cemented to the tread slab along their top narrow edges. They may form a rectangular planned frame, with concrete cast inside. Tension struts may pass through the steps near their open ends. Assembly is quick and economical, and the incorporation of concrete is not allowed to detract from the optical effect.
