Free-flowing coating powders of small particle size are produced by spraying a soln. of a polymer (3-50% concn) as a mist or fine particles, and pptg. the polymer by contacting the mist or fine particles with a precipitant. Spherical 3-20 mu particles are obtd. The powder is suitable for electrostatic spraying or turbulent-bed coating, to form continuous, smooth, glossy coatings, which may be as thin as 0.005-0.075 mm.
