1444655 Mixtures of basic dyes SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 24 May 1974 [1 June 1973 26 July 1973] 23425/74 Heading C4P [Also in Division D1] The invention provides mixtures of five basic dyes, there being at least one dye of each of formulae and at least one dye of either formulµ in which formulµ R is methyl or ethyl, RSP1/SP is hydrogen or halogen, RSP2/SP is hydrogen or C 1 to C 3 alkyl or C 1 to C 3 alkoxy, X is an anion, RSP3/SP, RSP4/SP, RSP5/SP and RSP6/SP are each C 1 to C 3 alkyl or an aralkyl group in which the aryl moiety is phenyl or naphthyl and in which the alkyl moiety has 1 or 2 carbon atoms, each of which groups may be substituted with a halogen atom, a hydroxy group or an alkoxy group having 1 or 2 carbon atoms, RSP7/SP is an alkyl group having 1 or 2 carbon atoms, RSP8/SP is a C 1 to C 3 alkyl group which may be substituted by halogen, a carbamoyl group, hydroxy or C 1 to C 2 alkoxy group, RSP9/SP and RSP10/SP are C 1 to C 3 alkyl groups or an aralkyl group in which the aryl moiety is phenyl or naphthyl and the alkyl moiety has 1 or 2 carbon atoms, each of which groups may be substituted by halogen, C 1 to C 2 alkoxy or hydroxy group, RSP11/SP is hydrogen or C 1 to C 3 alkyl group, RSP12/SP and RSP13/SP are C 1 to C 3 alkyl groups or aralkyl groups, the aryl moiety being phenyl or naphthyl and the alkyl moiety being C 1 to C 2 , and may be substituted by halogen, hydroxyl or a cyano group, RSP14/SP is hydrogen or an amino group optionally substituted by alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms or a phenyl group, RSP15/SP is hydrogen, halogen or a cyano group, RSP16/SP is a C 1 to C 3 alkyl group or an aralkyl group in which the aryl moiety is phenyl or naphthyl and in which the alkyl group has 1 or 2 carbon atoms, RSP17/SP is a C 1 to C 3 alkylene group, RSP18/SP is a C 1 to C 3 alkyl group, RSP19/SP, RSP20/SP, RSP21/SP and RSP22/SP are hydrogen or C 1 to C 3 alkyl or phenyl groups, RSP1/SP is hydrogen or C 1 to C 3 alkyl. The dye compositions are used to dye acid-modified polyesters black. The dye mixtures are obtained by mixing the ingredients together.
